organize while watching tv

If you like to watch tv but think that you could be utilizing that time more efficiently...you are right! Television is one of the biggest "time wasters" around, namely because as one show finishes, they show the exciting previews for the next show...and before you know it, you have spend several hours in from of the tv.
According to several studies, the average American watches 5 hours of tv per day! That's a lot of wasted time if you ask me! The obvious solution (if you are looking to gain a few extra hours in your day) is to cut out some tv time. However, you simply can not miss even one episode of your favorite show, try to multi-task and accomplish a few chores while watching tv. I've listed some ideas below.
- fold several loads of laundry and put the clothes away during commercials
- pull out a kitchen or bathroom drawer and bring it into the living room, dump it out and organize the contents
- look over the schedule(s) for the following day and make you to-do list
- cut coupons or make a grocery list
- check your email (if you can have a tv and computer in the same room)
- flip through your neglected pile of magazines
- plan the weekly meals a few days in advance (and then add any ingredients you need to your grocery list)
- go through your recipes and throw out ones you no long use or like.
