give your home some fresh air

For the past few days, west Michigan has experienced a huge drop in temperature and humidity. (I'm wearing jeans and a light-weight sweater on July 1...glorious!) I actually love mid-60's weather (as long as it's sunny). I also love opening the windows to let the fresh air in. I start to feel couped up with the air conditioning on...but Michigan humidity is not something to mess around with.

If you are craving fresh air in your home, opening the windows not the only way to achieve it. If your home is starting to feel stale or stagnate, another way freshening things up is by doing some light decluttering.

To start, simply
set your timer for 15-20 minutes and walk through your home with a box, bag, or laundry basket. Look for items in your home that have gone stale, and place them into your container. Recycle old magazines, toss tired floral arrangements, and pull a few faded sweaters or t-shirts out of your closet. When the timer rings, step back and feel the difference just a little bit of breathing room can create in your home.

Happy decluttering!
